Clive Johnson joined the British Antarctic Survey in 1975 and spent four summers and two winters in Antarctica working on the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia Island. He has worked on projects in the Canadian and Russian Arctic. In 1995 Clive joined CASP as a field assistant and since 1997 he has been working as a logistics manager.
An accomplished mountaineer and author of several books, he was awarded the ‘Polar Medal’ in 2001 for outstanding contribution to and as a member of British polar expeditions. Clive is one of the most experienced polar guides in the UK today.
